Rose Pediatrics TelemedicineWhat is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is a way to virtually connect a patient to their healthcare provider. The provider can remotely diagnose and treat patients by means of telecommunications technology.

Do I need special equipment?

Any smartphone or tablet with text, video, and audio capabilities can be used.

How do I get connected?

Contact us at our Highlands Ranch Office: (303) 471-0221 to initiate the registration. Our staff will send you a text message with a link to download the app and register for a free account. Then you can start exchanging private, secure messages via the app to schedule and conduct the electronic visit.

Is it HIPAA compliant?

Yes! Using our Spruce Health app, you will register for a unique user ID and password which acts as a portal between the patient and Rose Pediatrics.

What is the cost?

It is free to download the app.  The visit itself will be billed to your insurance at our rate as it would if you were seen in office.  An additional code is billed out in conjunction with your telemedicine visit and covers our ability to use the electronic platform for communication. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to know how it is covered by insurance prior to your visit, whether they put it towards your deductible, co-insurance, or even a copay.

What types of Primary Care visits can be conducted with Telemedicine?

  • Exams for respiratory conditions
Respiratory conditions including colds, flus, seasonal allergies and cough are among the most common reasons that patients seek urgent care. In most cases, they can be diagnosed and treated effectively via telemedicine.
  • Ear, nose and throat ailments
Problems that affect the ear, nose and throat such as sinus symptoms, earache and sore throat are good candidates for remote video visits.
  • Conditions affecting the skin
Hi-definition video capabilities make it possible to diagnose and treat certain skin conditions like, insect bites, rashes and skin infections effectively with telemedicine.
  • Other urgent, but non-emergency complaints
The range of cases that can be addressed with telemedicine is large and includes other complaints such as, conjunctivitis, upset stomach, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and urgent medication refills.

Can I call in for my elderly mother or small child?

Of course, but remember that the patient MUST be present for us to interact with.
