Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

"My journey in healthcare started sixteen years ago as a CNA, forever asking questions in healthcare and seeking the evidence that surrounds them. I am an energetic, passionate, and creative person who loves to transform things for the better. The way I practice ultimately is designed to create an empowered generation that experiences health in every facet of their lives. I have strong ethics and morals that I have maintained throughout the years of working my way from being a CNA until finally obtaining my Doctorate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with an emphasis in mental health. I will be honest with you and share the practical "pearls" I have learned throughout this journey to become an expert in pediatric care. I will provide you every piece of information that I can to ensure you are able to make informed, safe decisions. I am extremely thorough and enjoy the complexity of medicine. I specialize in acute illness, mental health, obesity prevention, sexual abuse prevention, and preventative medicine as a whole. In my personal life, I am an avid hiker, world traveler, rock climber, and yoga enthusiast. Dogs are my favorite people. Ultimately, I live my life in a way that serves as an example of what healthy truly looks like."

Siwen Dong, MD

MD

Siwen Dong grew up in China, the Netherlands, Maryland, and Ohio. She attended college at the Ohio State University where she studied Biology and French, and stayed in Columbus, Ohio, to pursue her MD at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She returned to Maryland to complete her pediatric residency training at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. Siwen has a special interest in primary care medicine and the ability to provide continuity of care to patients of a variety of backgrounds. Her continuity and community clinic experiences during residency were invaluable to her education by exposing her to a broad range of patient populations and clinic settings, and has helped her to become not only compassionate and comprehensive in delivering care, but also culturally and linguistically aware of the needs her patients. She especially enjoyed her time at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center in Shanghai, China, as well as Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and hopes that she will be able to incorporate her global health experiences into her practice. Siwen moved to Denver, Colorado, in the summer of 2018. She loves living in Denver and exploring the outdoors, and has even taken up learning how to ski. In her free time, Siwen likes cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes (OH!), cooking, being outdoors, and traveling the world.
